Growing the Magic

Every forest begins with a single tree.

Why we plant

A Forest Built for Generations

Sorellendipity Farms is being built with future generations in mind. Thousands of trees are being planted across the property to create wildlife habitat, natural beauty, privacy, and places for future memories.

Every batch carries a name. Every name carries a story. These trees will grow through seasons we haven't yet lived, offering shade to children not yet born, and remembering those who made this possible.

A Forest Grows Slowly, and That's the Point

2026

Seeds acquired from San Juan, Lincoln, and Carson National Forests. First stratification begins. The Arvada greenhouse comes to life.

2027

First seedlings transplanted to Pine, Colorado. The mountain staging yard is established. The first grove takes shape.

2028 – 2029

Trees transition to their permanent home at the future farm. Field planting begins. Five hundred trees in the ground.

2030

Wildlife habitat expanding. The first choose-and-cut trees approaching harvestable height. The forest begins to look like a forest.

2035

Shade canopy beginning to form. The Bristlecone and Blue Spruce stand as landmarks. Seasonal enchantments begin at the farm.

2045

Mature forest sections throughout the property. The trees named for Jax, Aurelia, Georgios, Mia, and Scrappy stand tall. The magic is fully grown.

Stratification Begins — The Long Wait Before the First Green

Concolor Fir begins 60-day cold stratification in moist perlite bags in the refrigerator. Douglas Fir follows at 30 days. Blue Spruce, Southwestern White Pine, and Bristlecone Pine require only a 24-hour water soak before sowing — a reminder that fresh seed from good provenance needs little coaxing. The garage grow station is being assembled: full-spectrum LED lights, heat mats, fans, a thermometer keeping vigil through the Colorado nights.
